Raptr.com launched a re-design of their site today, and now offers a wall feed similar to Facebook or Digg that features personalized news based on games you play and topics you follow. We got a chance to check out the beta a few days ago and set up an official Gamestaq account that you can follow to get news, articles, and of course DEALS straight from us.
If you aren’t a Raptr user yet, we suggest you check it out. At its core, Raptr tracks the games you play and gives you stats on your playtime and achievements, and now syncs news based on the games you play. The new design doesn’t seem to have the super cool comparison options that let you tell where you stand achievement-wise with your friends and the general public, but word is there are many more features coming, and you can still access the old site at http://old.raptr.com to get access to these detailed (and very cool) analytics.
Check out the next page for the official press release.
“Trippy” isn’t the first word that comes to mind when you think of the beloved Mario games. But Super Mario Galaxy’s use of a rainbow palette and mind-bending perspective changes that take advantage of the Wii’s motion sensitive controls makes this blockbuster wilder than a ride through a funhouse.
Use the Wii Mote and Nunchuk to take advantage of classic Mario controls with added motion sensitive moves.
Play the Co-Star Mode with a friend, where one person controls Mario while the other uses the Wii mote to control the “star pointer” to shoot enemies and collect objects.
Nine power-ups give Mario all sorts of new abilities such as the Boo Suit that enables him to float through walls.
Over 8.5 million copies sold to date.
In a Nutshell: One of the most highly rated games ever released and a must-play for anyone who owns a Nintendo Wii. But don’t take my word for it, go see the universal praise on Metacritic.com and then go pick Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2 (or both) up for crazy cheap.
Kill zombies with friends. If that idea sounds appealing, then Left 4 Dead is the game for you. A virus that turns people in to man-eating freaks with super strength and speed has torn the world apart. You and a group of compatriots represent a small faction of immunes, humanities last hope. You must fight your way to safety, as far away from the infected as possible, in hopes of eventually outlasting the zombies and repopulating the world. Sound familiar? Well it is, but Left 4 Dead hit a homerun in the gameplay department, following up on the original and upping the ante for all future Zombie games.
Excellent artificial intelligence keeps the zombie slaying fresh throughout the game.
Straightforward, onscreen directives ensure you always know what to do as you go through the game.
Unmatched co-operative multiplayer experience ensures you never have to slay alone.
Use a slue of different weapons plus some unique toys such as bomber bile, which turns the zombies on one another, and Molotov cocktails.
Not for the younger crowd. This game is violent in the extreme.
What ever happened to the great explorer Sir Francis Drake? He had children and that blood eventually passed through the generations to modern day, where his ancestor Nate Drake took up the families fated profession: explorer. Widely regarded as the first definitive PS3 exclusive game, the Uncharted series received universally high reviews, particularly Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
Third-person action-adventure shooter with fluid game mechanics and lots of action (people familiar with Assassin’s Creed, Tomb Raider or other games in this vein will be at home with Uncharted).
In Uncharted: Drakes Fortune you’ll have to search for the legendary treasure of El Dorado, traveling through lush South American landscapes.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves sets Nate off in search of the lost city of Shambhala, traversing various Nepalese and Himalayan terrains. New Multiplayer mode brings an assortment of competitive gametypes to enjoy online.
The Trophy System rewards players for accomplishing various feats throughout the games, the ultimate goal being the Platinum Trophy for amassing all the others.
In a nutshell: The definitive PS3 exclusive series. If you own a PS3 you must play these games, and you can get them on the CHEAP right here at Gamestaq.

Movie tie-ins have traditionally been some of the worst videogames to ever grace our screens, and it usually seems that the bigger the blockbuster, the harder the game fails. But when Lego decided to take a new spin on things, they created a franchise of franchises that captured our hearts by uniting one of our favorite childhood toys and the moviess we most adore. The creators of the series have used a formula that has time and time again proven to create clever experiences that are fun for all. Check out what the Lego games are all about and find out which ones are right for you.
THE LEGO VIDEO GAME SERIES IN A NUTSHELL:
3rd-person action-adventure video games that marry the beloved LEGO aesthetic with popular movie series. Made by Traveler’s Tales Games.
You must navigate a world using LEGO heroes (yes, the tiny yellow ones we all played with as children) to defeat foes, solve puzzles and collect experience to unlock new characters and purchase upgrades.
Famous for colorful humor, solid and consistent gameplay and rapid-fire story lines. Family appropriate but wittiness and solid gameplay elements make it appropriate for any gamer.
Famous drop-in/drop-out cooperative mode means that a friend can join you at any time, while the HUB system lets you jump around the game world, spend your currency points on upgrades and unlock multitudes of well-known characters.
All the games play very similarly so if you enjoy one, you’ll enjoy them all.
Available on Gamestaq for super, duper cheap. Check out the offerings.

Last week, rumors started swirling about the successor to the Wii based a leaked internal memo to Nintendo’s investors. The memo detailed a new console to succeed the Wii in 2012 which would be shown in some form at E3 in June. Since then, Nintendo has officially confirmed the rumors and the unveiling at E3. This has caused even more rumors to sprout up, and we’ve taken the time to round them all up in one place, and label them as likely, or just possible. Check out the roundup below:

Mortal Kombat 9 comes out April 19th. After 8 previous releases you may ask, “what’s the hoopla about?”. Well, the series is finally returning to its roots and going back to 2D fighting (think Street Fighter). Additionally, they’re allowing all of the fatality animations to remain 3D, i.e. the best of both worlds. To commemorate this excellent decision, here is a rundown of the best Mortal Kombat videos the Internet has to offer. Warning: Videos not for the faint-stomached…
The Fatalities of Mortal Kombat 1 & 2
